Jumping to Conclusions

First of all, I haven't had internet at home for at least a week, and I am really struggling with it. My wireless router is on the fritz and I have difficulty communicating with my dear friend in Pakistan who strives so diligently to offer customer service in a language that neither of us speaks... Anyway, I came down to work to get my poor abandoned topless car (another long story) after hours of pouring rain, and I must say I am putting off getting in it and driving home cold and wet. So- no better way to spend a Saturday night than updating my little blog, right?

This is my thought: I sometimes jump quickly to conclusions. Usually choosing a negative outcome. For example, my surety that Wilson the Cat was never to return home, my quick and tragic farewell to my blue jeep, and the breaking up with my wife. I am pleased to report that in spite of my inner need to choose my own worst ending, I have been proven wrong on all counts: Wilson came home, the jeep, although really wet, still gets me from Point A to Point B, and my dear wife came "home" to me after a week. Although I am sorry that her new job wasn't not her life's dream come true, I knew in my heart that NOTHING would keep us apart for long, and that she would return to her proper place of employment- by my side. Welcome home, Wife!!

Based on these three examples, and many more, I'm sure, I have jumped to the conclusion (ha!!) that I should continue jumping to conclusions, because the true outcome is never as bleak as the one I foresee. Right?

Also, on a completely different note, today I participated in America's Walk for Diabetes. I haven't ever done anything like this, and it was an amazingly rewarding experience. Our 8 person team, the D.C. Riggs Avengers, walked in honor of my dad who was diagnosed with diabetes almost 20 years ago, and for my mom who had just received a tentative diagnosis just before her death. Our team was able to raise almost $1500 to go towards diabetes research. So a HUGE thanks to the special few who donated money and helped us on our way. Much love. Sugar-free love.
The walk ended at Hogle Zoo, and I will give a big thumbs up to the new Asian Highlands exhibit. Very nice. I do love the zoo. Then we went to the Greek Festival (Opa!!), then Vosen's Bread Paradies (German bakery) for Broetchen, then to Grandma Johnson's to can peaches and make raspberry jam. What a busy Saturday. I should go home and relax!! And eat delicious German bread with homemade jam. Wow, how jealous are you right now?
